Mechanical Properties
The ISO 898-1 standard defines the classes of mechanical strength for steel fasteners. Holo-Krome hex socket screws meet the class 12.9 specifications.
They therefore offer a high tensile strength of 1220 MPa minimum, a conventional yield strength of 1100 MPa minimum, a minimum elongation of 8%, and a hardness of 39-44 HRC.
By opting for identified alloy steel grades, Holo-Krome adheres to the specifications of the standard while allowing the use of its products from -29°C to +200°C.
Fatigue Resistance
Fatigue failure is a phenomenon that occurs after prolonged periods of intense stress. It is a common cause of breakage. To limit the risks, Holo-Krome specifies the following aspects:
Thermo-Forged® - Holo-Krome screws are cold forged up to a diameter of M24.
Geometric Definition: The various functional parts of the product are subject to stringent specifications and thorough inspections.
The geometric definition of the imprint, including precision, concentricity, and depth, determines the quality of the clamping.
Black Oxidation: All Holo-Krome screws are black oxidized, which provides them with a constant friction coefficient.
Traceability and Quality Control
Starting from a diameter of M4, Holo-Krome engraves a 3-digit traceability code, the HOLO-CODE®, on the heads of cylindrical screws. This code guarantees traceability throughout the entire manufacturing chain for a duration of 25 years.
