Keys: Inserts with I.D. < 6 are fitted with 2 keys. Inserts with internal diameter > 6 are fitted with 4 keys.
Installation drilling tolerances: from 4.0 to 12.70 = -.025 +.100, over 12.70 = -.025 +.130
FEATURES
Keyserts and Keenserts threaded inserts provide strong, permanent threads in virtually all materials. The special feature of these inserts is that they come with 2 or 4 wedges which, once fitted, lock the insert in its seat. Available in carbon steel "Keyserts" and stainless steel "Keenserts".

INSTALLATION OF KEY INSERTS
- Remove old thread using standard drill bit
- Tap a new thread, using a standard tap
- Screw Kersert or Keensert into the tap until it is below the workpiece surface
- Use the installation tool to drive in the keys. Proceed with several hammer blows
REMOVING KEY INSERTS
- Remove the material between the keys and the internal thread with a standard drill to the correct depth
- Bend the keys on the inside and break them off
- Remove the Keysert or Keensert with aDrill Out (product sheet here) or a similar tool
- A Keysert or Keensert of the same size can be replaced in the original thread
