Description :
Reinforced flexible couplings should be used where misalignment exists between the two shafts prior to coupling. They are recommended for low-stress transmissions, such as the coupling of a servomotor and a lead screw in a motion control system. They are dimensioned to withstand higher power torques than flexible couplings (see here), while maintaining low torsion and compensating for misalignment. Static torque values are established for maximum misalignment. To obtain the dynamic torque value, the static characteristic values must be divided by 2 for non-reversible applications and by 4 for reversible applications. Reinforced flexible couplings are fitted with 2 self-locking hexagon screws on each side.
COUPLING MATERIAL
Steel: C12L14 cold-drawn bar up to 5"1/4. C1117, C1117L or C12L14 bar from 5"1/2 to 7"3/4.
Aluminum: Aluminum bar 7075 - T651
Stainless steel: Bright finish
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Fit the coupling onto a half-shaft
- Align the two half-shafts to be joined
- Tighten the screws on one side of the coupling once it's in position
- Tighten the second side once the hub has been rotated to a position where there is no offset
