Our pointed-tip tapping screws are used on soft materials and plastics. They are available in galvanized steel or A2 stainless steel. A2 stainless steel accounts for over 65% of all stainless steel applications. The corrosion resistance of A2 stainless steel is superior to that of the main coatings used in fasteners, and is rated at PREN 18. These sheet metal screws feature a Pozidriv "Z" cruciform recess, to hold the tightening tip in place when tightened. These screws are designed for fastening thin mechanical parts, such as metal-to-metal fasteners and sheet metal. The sheet metal screw is one of the most widely used fasteners in the DIY and construction (cladding) sectors, as well as in the household appliance and automotive industries. They often have a triangular profile. The advantages are: simple, fast, economical assembly, no pre-drilling, no tapping, no offset between the two holes of the parts to be assembled, no need for additional safety features (e.g. self-locking washers).
